Dental Photography

Course Information


The course covers all necessary areas for achieving the basic standards of photography for clinical record keeping.

This includes a basic understanding of the functioning of photography equipment including cameras, light and common accessories.

It also covers common photographic errors & faults, how to prevent and/or correct them, basic views and operator positions as well as basic photo editing.

Aim & Objectives

To help participants get familiarized with and understand

  • Camera types and functions
  • Basics of lighting including exposure, focus and colour balance
  • Basic dental photography accessories
  • Common photographic errors, their causes and prevention
  • Basic views for dental record keeping and operator positions
  • Basic photo editing

To help participants develop the necessary basic skills of using the various DSLR and other camera settings to achieve reliable and consistent photographs

Instructor Bio


Dr. Abbas Naqvi

BDS, Dip. Mktg., G. Cert. Journ. | Director at CIDE - Canadian Integration by Dental Education

Dr. Abbas Naqvi completed his dental education in 2002 and since then, in addition to clinical practice has pursued a diverse career in media and marketing.

He has been training dentists and dental teams on Dental Photography since 2009.

He has topped up his dental education with formal schooling in photography, media and marketing and also delivers lectures on media and marketing for dentistry.

  • Registrants may cancel before 10 am EST, 7 calendar days prior to the course to receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations made after this time will be assessed their full registration fees.
  • While no refunds will be given after the cancellation deadline, fees can be applied toward any future course offering.
